Bellinzona

At the foot of the Alps, east of the river Ticino lies the main town of the Italian canton in southern Switzerland, Bellinzona. Bellinzona is best known for its three medieval defensive castles Castelgrande, Castello di Montebello and Castello di Sasso Corbaro which are also listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Over 150,000 people every year in February gathers in Bellinzona for the occasion of 'Rabadan' carnival.
