Important notice regarding the procedure for exercising the right to free island transport

Extend your pass by September 15 and continue traveling for free!

Dear passengers, in order to continue enjoying free island road transport on the islands of Lošinj, Cres, Krk, Rab, Pag, Brač, Korčula, Lastovo, Mljet, and the Pelješac peninsula, it is necessary to extend your pass (orange CHIP card) no later than September 15, 2025.

Passengers without a valid pass after this date will be required to pay for their ticket.

How to extend your pass?

Primorje-Gorski Kotar County

  • Obtain a Certificate of Entitlement for Free Public Island Road Transportation issued by Primorje-Gorski Kotar County.

  • You can apply for the certificate online via the eForm: link or submit your request by post or in person at the county offices in Rijeka, Krk, Mali Lošinj, and Rab.

  • Visit an Arriva sales point in Rijeka, Krk, Rab, or Mali Lošinj and extend your pass with a valid Certificate.

Zadar County

  • Obtain a Certificate of Entitlement for Free Public Island Road Transportation issued by Zadar County.

  • You can download the application form online: link and submit the completed form to the Zadar County office in person or by post.

  • Visit an Arriva sales point in Zadar and extend your pass with a valid Certificate.

Split-Dalmatia County

  • Obtain a Certificate of Entitlement for Free Public Island Road Transportation issued by Split-Dalmatia County.

  • You can apply online via the eForm: link or submit your request to the Split-Dalmatia County office.

  • Visit an Arriva sales point in Supetar and extend your pass with a valid Certificate.

Dubrovnik-Neretva County

  • Obtain a Certificate of Entitlement for Free Public Island Road Transportation issued by Dubrovnik-Neretva County.

  • You can download the application form online: link and submit it to the Dubrovnik-Neretva County office in person or by post.

  • Visit an Arriva sales point in Korčula or Blato and extend your pass with a valid Certificate.

IMPORTANT! Extend your pass no later than September 15, 2025. Passengers without a valid pass after this date will be required to pay for their ticket.

Exceptions

  • First-time pass holders: Until the new pass is issued, you will receive a temporary confirmation allowing you to travel without a CHIP card, valid for a limited period. To issue a pass, you must provide a photo sized 3.5x3 cm, not older than one year.

  • Primary school students traveling according to the official school lists for educational purposes are eligible under the Islands Act.

  • Students: deadline for renewal is October 15.

  • Workers: not eligible for free transport.

Important notes

  • The orange CHIP allows free travel within the island. For routes outside the island, a ticket or a season pass (so-called Blue CHIP) is required.

  • All CHIP cards (orange and blue) must be scanned when boarding the bus.

  • Payment for tickets on the bus is only possible by credit or debit card.
